Andy Murray overcame Benjamin Becker in straight sets and will now meet Joe-Wilfried Tsonga, who beat Kudla in commanding fashion. Lleyton Hewitt played quite brilliantly to claim a huge scalp in Juan Martin Del Potro. The week came to an end for the returning Del Potro as Hewitt found his top-form to win in three sets. Hewitt broke the Del Potro serve twice before taking the opening set whilst Del Potro broke the Hewitt serve twice in the second set to level the match. It was Hewitt who maintained his composure in the third as the gritty Australian broke the Del Potro serve a further two times. Hewitt will now meet Marin Cilic in the Semi Finals as the Croatian battled past Tomas Berdych in straight sets.
Quarter Final Results:
Murray (1) beat Becker 6-4, 7-6
Cilic (5) beat Berdych (2) 7-5, 7-6
Hewitt beat Del Potro (3) 6-2, 2-6, 6-2
Tsonga (4) beat Kudla 6-3, 6-2
Performance of the Day: Lleyton Hewitt again showing his class to beat Del Potro in three sets. Some unbelievable returning against the Del Potro serve proved he still has it in to compete in the big matches. How far can Hewitt go at Wimbledon in this form?
