Agnieska Radwanska came through a very tough encounter with sixth seed Na Li to set up a semi final meeting with Sabine Lisicki. In a closely contested opening set, the highest seed left in the women's draw took it after a tie-break. Nal Li hit back in the second set after holding onto a break of serve. It was Radwanska who held the edge in the deciding set as the Pole won it 6-2. Sabine Lisicki continued her fine form to blast past Kai Kanepi in straight sets, winning 6-3 twice.
Petra Kvitova was shocked by Belgium's Kristen Flipkens in three entertaining sets. The eighth seed took the first set after holding onto a break of serve before Flipkens levelled the match at one set apiece. It was Flipkens who held her nerve to break the Kvitova serve and make her first ever Wimbledon semi final. She will meet Marion Bartoli for a place in the final after the Frenchwoman impressively defeated Sloane Stephens in straight sets.
My Opinion: A really interesting days play on women's quarter finals day. Radwanska looks to have her best ever chance of winning a major title now after beating the second highest seed in Na Li and the departure of Petra Kvitova. Sabine Lisicki will be looking to win a maiden major title after playing some inspired tennis. There is even a chance that Flipkens or Bartoli will win a first major title as one of them will be playing in the final. I would fancy Radwanska to do the business as someone will have to play exceptionally well to defeat the fourth seed.
