My Opinion:
My man of the match was Kroos. Bayern take advantage after first leg. Arsenal really missed out here. They were awarded a penalty but Ozil's effort from the spot was saved. A huge opportunity missed and one that proved costly. To add insult to injury, Bayern were awarded a penalty not long after and Scieszny was shown a straight red card. Amazingly, Arsenal were let off the hook as Alaba put the penalty wide but they had to play the rest of the match with only 10 men. It was an uphill battle and they went behind early in the second half as Kroos scored a spectacular effort from long range. Arsenal were pretty much on the back foot for the rest of the game and the tie was effectively over when Muller scored with two minutes left to play. Bayern will be delighted to be heading back to Munich with two away goals and one foot in the quarter finals. They were pretty average in the first half but played a lot better in the second. They took full advantage of having an extra man on the field and dominated the match in the second half. Arsenal will have their work cut out in the second leg but they did win in Munich 2-0 last year. I would fully expect Bayern to see the tie off at home in the return leg but you never know what might happen.
