ICC Champions Trophy 2013 Day 6: India v West Indies (The Oval)

Dhawan hits an unbeaten century as Pakistan are knocked out

India 236-2 (39.1 overs) beat West Indies 233-9 (50 overs) by 8 wickets.

India defeated the West Indies by 8 wickets which means that Pakistan are now out of the competition. It was a strong performance from the Indian batsmen who quickly chased down a target of 234 runs. Charles (60) and Sammy (56) were the only two West Indian batsmen to contribute decent runs for their team as a brilliant bowling display from Jadeja, who took a fifer, limited the West Indies to 233-9 after 50 overs. Rohit Sharma (52) and Dhawan (102) put on a first wicket century partnership which gave India a strong platform from which to chase the remaining runs. Karthik (51) made his fifty before India easily chased down their target to clinch victory at the Oval.
