Ashes Series: Australia v England - Third Test (Day 5) Perth

Australia win the Ashes

Australia 385 & 369-6 declared beat England 251 & 353 by 150 runs (Australia win Series 3-0)

Australia wrapped up a 150 run victory over England to win the Ashes Series 3-0. The morning session saw Stokes and Prior put up a minor fightback with a fifty partnership. However, Johnson dismissed Prior for 26 to reduce England to 296-6. The moment of the day for England came when Stokes produced a fine innings and secure his century. Stokes and Bresnan took England into the afternoon session on 332-6 but it all went wrong for the tourists when Stokes edged behind off the bowling of Lyon. The next three wickets fell within the space of half an hour as Johnson and Lyon finished the job off as England were bowled out for 353, 150 runs short of Australia.

My Opinion:
Disappointed but it was expected that Australia would win back the Ashes today. Pleased to see Stokes and Prior show some spirit and bat out most of the morning session. Especially impressed by Stokes who showed the rest of his team up by scoring a mighty hundred on a tough wicket. As soon as Stokes was dismissed, it did not take very long for Johnson and Lyon to bowl England out. Swann, Bresnan and Anderson all failed miserably with the bat as Australia claimed a dominant 150 run Test win. Now that the Ashes are gone, I expect England to make some changes for the remaining two Tests as England have been very poor so far this Series.
