French Open: Day 11 - Quarter-Finals

Djokovic to meet Nadal in Semi's whilst Sharapova digs deep to progress

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal both won their Quarter-Final matches to set up a hugely anticipated French Open Semi-Final. Djokovic played well to come through his match in straight sets to beat 12th seed Tommy Haas whilst Nadal, who looks to be getting stronger and stronger as the tournament progresses, demolished Stanislas Wawrinka in three comfortable sets. Personally, I cannot wait for this match on Friday and expect a very long five set encounter.
On the Women's half of the draw, Maria Sharapova was completely outplayed by Jelena Jankovic in first set as the Russian was humbly bageled. Sharapova then showed why she's won Grand Slams as her sheer mental strength brought her back level in the match at one set apiece. It was then Sharapova who prevailed in the deciding set as Jankovic, who has a history of faltering in big matches, lost her nerve. Sharapova will now meet Victoria Azarenka in the Semi's as the third seed battled past Maria Kirilenko in straight sets.
