Super Sunday Game Week 5

Man City Thrash Man United

Man City 4 v 1 Man United Aguero (16,45), Toure (46), Nasri (50), Rooney (84)

Man City run riot over Man United. City dominated from the start as Navas blazed over early on. Aguero put City in front after spectacular volley. Nasri blazed over as City were relentless. Valencia produced United's only real effort on goal but dragged his shot wide. Just before half time, City doubled their lead through Yaya Toure who slotted home at the far post. Straight after half time, City went 3-0 up as Aguero volleyed in Negredo's cross. Nasri put City 4-0 up soon after by volleying in a Navas cross. United created a few chances but Rooney missed a great opportunity whilst Fellaini had a shot tipped over the bar. Negredo sliced wide before Dzeko had a shot saved. Evra came close to scoring but his header found the post before Rooney's effort was blocked. Rooney did manage to provide United with a late consolation goal after scoring a free kick. Dzeko came close with a late effort but it went just wide of the post.

My Opinion:

My man of the match was Vincent Kompany who led from the back. A very dominant showing from City who thoroughly deserved to win. Aguero and Negredo had great games whilst Rooney was the only bright light in an awful performance from United.

Cardiff City 0 v 1 Tottehnam Paulinho (90)

Paulinho steals late win for Spurs. The game was an even affair in the first half as both teams created chances. Campbell was put through on goal early on but Lloris was quickly off his line to put in the tackle. Soldado had a shot saved round the post before Eriksen's shot was well saved. Turner had a goal disallowed just before half time as the goalkeeper was fouled. Sigurdsson hit the bar with a long range strike soon after the restart whilst Soldado had his shot saved from the rebound. Soldado had another chance but was ruled offside before Paulinho had an effort tipped round the post. Gunnarsson blazed over fro Cardiff before Paulinho scored in the dying moments with a backheel to snatch victory for Spurs.

My Opinion:

My man of the match was Marshall in the Cardiff goal who denied Spurs on numerous occasions. Cardiff came close to taking a draw thanks to the performance of Marshall but Spurs deserved to win as they dominated the second half.

Arsenal 3 v 1 Stoke City Ramsay (5), Cameron (26), Mertesacker (34),  Sagna (71)

Arsenal cruise to win over Stoke. Ramsay put Arsenal in front in the opening five minutes after tapping in from close range. Gibbs provided a wild effort before Stoke equalised just before the half an hour mark through Cameron who slotted home the rebounded shot of Arnautovic. Wilshere had a shot blocked before Mertesacker's header was cleared off the line. Arsenal took the lead again as Mertesacker headed in an Ozil corner. Gnabry produced a wild effort before half time. Gnabry produced a better shot after the break but it was duly saved. Giroud had a shot tipped over the bar whilst Ozil had a shot saved. Wilson had a shot saved before Sagna put Arsenal 3-1 up by heading in an Ozil free kick. Shawcross headed wide before Ramsay had a late shot tipped over.

My Opinion:

My man of the match was Mesut Ozil who shined in the Arsenal midfield. Strong performance from Arsenal who deserved the win. Ozil starred in everything Arsenal did well whilst Stoke just couldn't hold on in the second half.

Crystal Palace 0 v 2 Swansea City Michu (2), Dyer (48)

Swansea take spoils at Palace. Swansea went ahead in the second minute as Michu drove a low shot under the goalie. Chico nearly doubled Swansea's lead a minute later but his header struck the post. Michu volleyed just over the bar before Rangel had a shot well saved just before half time. Swansea doubled their lead soon after play resumed for the second half by slotting home a Vazquez layoff. Vazquez shot over before Gayle dragged a shot wide. Michu had a goal ruled out for offside before Campagne blazed over late on.

My Opinion:

My man of the match was Michu who terrorised the Palace defence. Palace never got into the game and struggled to create chances. Swansea showed their class and the two early goals in each half killed the game.

Best Goal: Sergio Aguero for his amazing volley.
