Super Sunday Game Week 2

Cardiff Shock Man City

Fraizer Campbell (left) celebrates scoring for Cardiff

Cardiff City 3 v 2 Manchester City Dzeko 52, Gunarrsson 60, Campbell 78 and 86, Negredo 90

Frazier Campbell scored twice as Cardiff took a memorable win over Manchester City. It was a fairly even first half with both teams creating a good chance. Man City took their time before Silva could only muster a tame effort which was duly saved easily before Campbell had an effort saved on the stroke of half time. The second half was completely different to the first as the game opened up. Dzeko struck from long range just after the break to give the visitors the lead. However, eight minutes later Gunarrsson chipped over Hart from close range after the goalkeeper could only parry the previous shot to level the match. Amazingly, Cardiff took the lead in the 78th minute as Campbell headed in at the far post from a corner. Incredibly, Cardiff went 3-1 up after a carbon copy Campbell goal which left Man City stunned. Negredo was brought on late into the game and the substitute managed to score after heading in Silva's cross to peg them back to 3-2. Negredo had the chance to equalise in the dying moments but could only blast over as Cardiff took a memorable victory.

My Opinion:

The man of the match goes to Frazier Campbell for his two headed goals. Amazing win for Cardiff who battled really hard today. Pellegrini will be left in no doubt that the Premier League is really tough no matter where who you play and today was a prime example. Negredo made a difference when he came on and looks to be a great signing.

Tottenham 1 v 0 Swansea Soldado 58(p)

Soldado gives Spurs victory from the penalty spot. The first chance of the game fell to Routledge who had his effort saved in the opening ten minutes. Williams got away with one after heading onto his own post before Paulinho's effort was saved. Dembele had his shot saved before the teams went into half time all square. Townsend looked to open the scoring after the break but could only blaze his shot over. The pivotal point in the match came in the 57th minute as Shelvey fouled Townsend inside the box and the referee duly pointed to the spot. Soldado coolly slotted home the penalty to give Spurs the lead. Swansea couldn't get a goal back but came closest when Chico had his shot saved.

My Opinion:

The man of the match goes to Andros Townsend who looked a threat throughout and won the penalty. An even match but Tottenham edged the game slightly and deserve the three points. Swansea will look to improve as they continue to balance their squad with the European fixtures.

Goal of the Day: Edin Dzeko for his rocket against Swansea.

Performance of the Day: Frazier Campbell for his two goals against Man City.

Shock of the Day: Cardiff winning 3-2 against Man City.
